Amanda Thackray, Visiting 艺术ist Workshop and Exhibition*

Amanda Thackray is a multidisciplinary ecofeminist artist and educator, 总部设在纽瓦克, NJ, whose practice sits at the intersection of craft, 雕塑, and environmentally-based social practice.

She is the recipient of an artist-in-residence at the Museum of 艺术 and Design (MAD) in NYC, the NJ State Council on the 艺术s Individual 艺术ist Fellowship in 2022, and the Arctic Circle in Svalbard, Norway 艺术ists’ residencies. Her work is in over a dozen public collections including The Metropolitan Museum of 艺术 Watson 图书馆 in NYC; Mediatheque Andre Malraux, France; Yale University and The 图书馆 of Congress.

The exhibit at Brookdale will include Riverbound, a community papermaking project on the bank of the Lower Passaic River, funded in part by the Andy Warhol Foundation through the Newark 艺术ist Accelerator grant.

Thackray teaches printmaking, 艺术家的书籍, and papermaking at SUNY Purchase and 罗格斯大学 University. She earned her MFA from Rhode Island School of Design and her BFA from Mason Gross School of the 艺术s at 罗格斯大学 University.

Save the date for her weaving workshop during the exhibition. It is free and open to the public.

3月20日: Exhibit open to the public. While visiting the exhibit you will have the opportunity to create a weave that will be part of the event on April 14.
4月14日: Live 艺术ist Event Weaving (2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.), 艺术家讨论 (6:00 p.m.)
